The Family Housing Fund focuses its efforts on producing and preserving affordable rental housing, homeownership, and supportive housing for low- and moderate-income families. The Fund also focuses on educating community leaders and the public about affordable housing issues and on bringing people and organizations together to create innovative solutions to the problem. Since 1980, Fund investments of $125 million have helped finance 26,400 units of affordable housing-including home ownership, rental housing, and supportive housing units. Furthermore, Fund investments have leveraged $1.8 billion for affordable housing from government, private lenders, investors, and other contributors.

While these numbers are impressive and should be celebrated, we recognize that our true accomplishments lie in the success of the individuals and families that we serve through our housing programs and developments. From local and national research and accounts from our partners and families served, we know that having a safe, stable, and affordable place to live does have a positive affect on people's lives. Children are healthier and perform better in the classroom, parents are better able to maintain stable employment and/or return to school to gain new employment skills, and communities experience greater racial and economic diversity-helping to fill jobs and create more cultural awareness.
