HOMEOWNER EDUCATION, COUNSELING, AND TRAINING FUND (HECAT)
The Family Housing Fund contributes funds provides support to the Minnesota Homeownership Center for a statewide network of homebuyer and homeowner education and counseling for lower income households and underserved populations through the HECAT program. Providers apply for funds to support their education and counseling through a single RFP process each year.
The Family Housing Fund partners with the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund, Minnesota Housing, and the Minnesota Homeownership Center to support the network of homebuyer and homeowner education and counseling organizations.
In 2013, the Fund contributed a $175,000 grant to a funding pool of $1.3 million that supported counseling for 3,255 households through this critical program. For more information on the households served through the education and counseling programs statewide, visit the Minnesota Homeownership Center.
