In addition to its fact sheets and reports, the Family Housing Fund has created several other materials that can be used for public education purposes around the issue of affordable housing. In addition, the Fund is involved in two local initiatives that have created unique sets of public education materials for community distribution.
Changing the Face of Housing in Minnesota
December 2002-Changing the Face of Housing in Minnesota is an initiative that helps organizations implement strategies that will increase the participation of communities of color at all levels of housing production, planning, management, policy, and decision making. Don't Borrow Trouble Minnesota
March 2003-Don't Borrow Trouble Minnesota is a public education campaign that seeks to promote stability and success among families and individuals who are targeted by predatory lenders in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. A coalition of over 60 organizations has joined together to create this campaign. The Family Housing Fund is the administrator for Don't Borrow Trouble Minnesota. Home Sweet Home: An Affordable Housing Art Exhibit
November 2000-To celebrate the Family Housing Fund's 20th Anniversary and to raise awareness of the housing crisis in the Twin Cities area, the Family Housing Fund commissioned 23 local artists to produce work around the issue of affordable housing. The artwork portrays a wide range of housing situations and circumstances-from the stark images of homelessness to the celebrations of a family moving into its first home. Several artists worked with children living in affordable housing to create images of what it means to have a home. The Dream: Affordable Housing in the Twin Cities (Video)
1998--The Dream is an eleven-minute video that explains affordable housing needs in the Twin Cities' metropolitan area and showcases successful housing programs throughout the region.
